This is really heart rending to see these cute babies that i have blogged has been deformed due to the use of massive amount of uranium munitions used by the US forces in the initial bombing. Due to this massive amount of congenital deformities occured all over Afghanistan. As a result the rate of various cancers went up significantly. Leukemia and esophageal cancers were very high among children. According to doctors at maternity and children hospitals in Kabul, the rate of various congenital deformities have been increased by many folds since the US invasion. In fact, the magnitude of man made isotopes was established by the Uranium Medical Research Center after their investigators made trips to Afghanistan and collected urine and soil samples. They established that the rate of man made isotopes was gone up 2000 times in some subjects located near the bombed areas.
Since uranium used in the weapons have a half-life of 4.5 billion years, the US forces ensured that generations of Afghans will suffer from cancers and deformities. This is certainly not development. In fact, it is the biggest crime ever committed by anyone in the history of humanity.How could anyone forgive them for what they have done?.How can they change it back? They have detroyed every parents dream.They have destroyed the future of these little babies.Will these babies ever be happy? no they won't, they will remember this forever. They will never forget this incident.I wish I could help these babies.Think how you will feel if it was you baby.

Its not only war that causes infant babies to be abnormal. Think about abortions! Maybe its side effects are much worse. Will the baby ever forgive his/her mother in that case???

I don't think the first picture depicts a deformity that was caused by war. It's a genetic mutation and is somewhat hereditary. I recall it's called Harlequin foetus...or something like that. There was even one born in Addu some time back. Still, those are very disturbing pictures.
I believe that you need to do some medical research because the majority of those babies shown have a fetal deformity that is not caused by your wars. One baby is Anacephalic- which means that the brain and nervous sysetm never developed... its the baby with a big body and literally no head. Many come from healthy pregnancies. There are so many things that can go wrong during the development and it's all out of our control. Please make educated statements so that people are not mislead, especially since NONE of these babies will survive (referring to Crazy Juja's comment on "will these babies ever be happy?".

I have to agree with previous posts about misleading people with an uninformed view regarding the issue, however I also feel that they are being very malicious by calling others dumb asses because in a sense you were partly correct. Although the infants shown are suffering from genetic defomaties inherited to them from their parents the radioactive particles can be coorelated to expressing certin phenotypes. I am reffering to section of genetic study called epigenetic s. Epigenetic concerns changes in gene expression based upon changes to DNA that don't actually concern the sequence of the DNA. Epigenetic changes can result from radioactivity. But please remember that CORRELATION DOESN"T ALWAYS IMPLY CAUSATION. I also would like to say that what concerns me the most is the health care provided to these women and that earlier screening could have changed the outcome for these children, and that these infants wouldn't have been alive for very long after their birth and that abortions can be used as a medical treatment under some circumstances. Think of having a terminally ill dog that suffers excruciating pain every day until it dies. Euthanizing the animal is not done because you disrespect its life, but only because you don't want it to suffer. Not that i am calling the babies dogs. I am only saying that just because some abortions occur it isn't because they are unwanted or that their lives are disrespected.
